“I am inspired by the beauty of our natural world and capturing it through photography.”

I’m Matthew Olivar, my goal is to capture pure, true to the eye, landscape photography. I shoot with a focused (no pun intended) passion for the ocean, mountains and desert. I was raised on the credo of “leave it better than you found it,” and this leave no trace philosophy has shaped my love of nature. I believe that photography can bring awareness to the power, beauty and fragility of our environment. I love capturing of all the seen, and sometimes unseen, details of a subject.

Creative inspiration comes in many forms, and my passion for music is intrinsically connected to my work. Every print is titled after a song, a personal experience I am happy to share with the world. I often listen to music during my shoots and the audio/visual experience is imprinted in my mind, and my images.

In terms of my technical process, I try and capture all my images “in camera,’ so any post shoot editing is simple and best represents the scene. I don’t use photoshop, AI or any other graphic altering technique.
